What is job evaluation? Overview
Job evaluation is a structured method for comparing jobs by factors such as knowledge, responsibility, scope, and working conditions. It assigns point scores to produce consistent grades, creating a reliable foundation for pay ranges and supporting fairness, equity, and pay-transparency compliance.
Is our plan based on a job evaluation system?
If your compensation program already uses job evaluation, Blue Whale will email your upload schedule. If you’re unsure, please submit a support ticket.
Will Blue Whale upload our scores into BlueComp? Included
Yes. We will upload the most recent scores we have on record at no cost. If you have newer scores, share them and we’ll upload those as well. Optional verification against current job descriptions is available as a consulting service (hourly).
What does the new module let us do?
Assign grades based on evaluation results, estimate market values (especially for new jobs), evaluate and store scores online, compare scores across positions, and normalize your compensation program to strengthen pay transparency.
When is it available? Timeline
The module goes live in two weeks. You can book a 20-minute introductory session now, or wait for an email with step-by-step instructions to move your scores into the system.
What does it cost? No Additional Cost
The job evaluation module is included at no additional cost for all BlueComp accounts. Score uploads are also included. Ongoing maintenance and score verification are available as hourly consulting, if desired.

You still benefit. BlueComp now gives you a clear pathway to adopt job evaluation if and when it makes sense — bringing structure and transparency to your compensation program.
